CALL OF DUTY 2It's an action game, for sure. But what is really amazing in the new Call of Duty series is that you will feel the emotion, the stress and the atmosphere that was Europe during World War II. Being side by side to your comrades, seeing the breath coming out from their mouths during cold days in Russia, it's really engaging. These are the fine details that COD 2 offers in single player mode and multiplayer mode.The scenarios are beautifully designed from the level designers at Infinity Ward. Even the game engine is focused on giving you some atmospheric details, like smoke coming out from explosions, rain falling down, and sunlight distorted (blurred) from the general smoke covering the cities where the battles take place. The AI is a step forward giving you the impression that your bot-comrades understand your tactics. We never saw so many well-worked textures for a game as the incredible normal mapping that gives the impression of real houses walls and terrain. COD2 offers you a protagonist role in WWII.
